스위스 독립 브랜드 오라지의 전천후 GMT 시계, HORAGE Supersede ALL-Terrain GMT

 

HORAGE의 본사는 스위스 중서부 베른 주 북서부에 있는 공업 도시이자, 스위스 워치메이커의 본고장인 빌Biel(프랑스어로 비옌Bienne)에 위치한다. 사무실과 공장이 불과 몇 백 미터밖에 안 떨어져 있어서 디자인팀과 엔지니어링 팀이 제품 개발에 긴밀한 협력관계를 유지하고 있다고 한다.

 

이 회사는 부부인 Andreas Felsl과 Tzuyu Huang에 의해 2007년 설립되었다. Tzuyu가 이미 많은 시계 브랜드에 OEM 방식으로 서비스를 제공하는 회사를 운영하다가, 독립 브랜드를 갖게 된 것. 2009년 Omnium으로 데뷔한 다음, 이어서 2015년에 Jonas-K1을 출시함으로써 진정한 독립 워치 메이커로 자리매김을 했다.

 

참고로, 브랜드명 오라지HORAGE(H가 묵음이어서 ‘orage’로 발음된다.)는 ‘Hour’를 의미하는 라틴어 HORA와 과거, 현재, 미래를 나타내는 영어 ‘Time’의 의미로 쓰는 AGE를 조합하여 만든 것이라고 한다. 그리고 Supersede ALL-Terrain GMT 모델에 대해서는 이미지와 스펙으로 대신한다.
